Also, all RADEON 8500 and RADEON 9500 and higher cards have component output if you buy the adapter from ATI. I don't know how the prices compare to a 6200 with component output.

The adapter is about $30. I'm using one on my 9800pro and it's working wonderfully.

The 8500 takes a VGA to component adapter while the 9500 and above uses a DVI to component adapter I believe.

Why would you need component out for Mame????? A RF connection would be fine for those graphics.

no no no. I would be using a 20" SD tv. Everything I have read though is that you have to use at least s-video, but component would be ideal. Have I been mistaken?

I doubt you'll see any difference on an SDTV -- they can only display 640x480, interlaced.

Component would be better, but probably not much better than S-Video. Certainly not enough to buy an expensive new video card for.

Matrox G400 Max was the last of the GREAT Matrox TV out cards. Matrox cards aren't cheap anyways, so onever mind that.

Volari is a great choice for HD output. Probably also for SD svideo.

GF4MX is a good cheap choice for SD svideo out.
