Maybe the 2940. And you are lazy! All candians are lazy and wouldn't know good beer or hockey if it hit 'em in the face.

'eh?

I'm in fight mode for some reason. You wanna step outside, punk?

Lazy? More like laid back and relaxed 🙂

I guess are you are pretty busy with all this network sludge that's out there, eh?

Let's not fight... how about that new Rush live in Brazil DVD that's coming out!

btw, that switch looks perfect... I was hoping for something rackmountable though. Got to
fill up the 8' rack I have at home 😛

Find a used 2924 on ebay, should be pretty cheap.

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&krd=1&from=R8&MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&query=cisco+2924

Now take off ya hoser! And talk to me when rush takes some of those pristine original recordings and put them out on SACD.
:disgust:
😉

Take off eh!

Actually, a 2924 would be a good idea since that makes up most of our network (3x2924, 1x2948G, 1x3620, 1x7204VXR)

I don't care about SACD because there's no way in hell that I am replacing my 450 CD's 🙂

You will when you hear it.

There's a couple of Catalyst 1900's out there for < $200, and they support VLANS. I don't remember if they run CatOS or something special, but they might do the trick.

You can generally find a lot of old stuff on eBay pretty cheap. If all you want is VLANS and 10Mb/s, almost anything cisco and managed will work. Just do your homework. Heck there's a 2822 out there for $65 right now (closes at about 5:40 PM PST today) that would probably be fine.

2924's esp the C models are pricey compared to the 1900's....the 2924's are still used alot in production.

the 'C' 2924 goes for $450+ usually the 'C' 1924 almost 1/4 that.

Cisco Catalyst 1900 series supports VLAN.

I would recommend Cisco Cat 2900 families if you want to use this seriously for production.
