My ears honestly aren't as great as I think they are, so anything cheap would suffice, long as it had that input.

You would also want it to decode dolby digital if your looking to make use of the 360's surround sound. I think the logitech z-5500 and some lower models have an audio pod which has the optical in and decode features.

I've been lurking on these boards for a long time with various needs, one of them being a new speaker system. Yoyo, after reading tons of your messages, I value your opinions and I feel the urge to now buy an Onkyo system. Its cheap and, since you recommended it, it probably is very high quality sound. Any particular reasons for mentioning the above Onkyo setup many numerous times? Also, what are your thoughts on the (half price!) refurbished system they offer?

I'm about to pull the trigger on something, you should see these "Computer Associates" speakers I have been using for 5-6 months since my z-560's went kaput.

Well I don't know about "very high quality sound", but I think it's a good option if you're looking for something in this range. It can be a bit more difficult to hook up to a receiver than a computer speakers system if you have a computer as a source. A set like this onkyo is going to be very easy to hook up to an xbox 360 or other sources like that. If you're going from a computer, you'll run into some issues for getting surround sound in games possibly.

The reason I'm pro-onkyo for HTIB systems is that the speakers are fairly decent and you get a good receiver for the money. For example, with the 590 refurb set, the receiver you'd getting would basically cost that much on its own. I've heard good things about people getting refurb sets from them and I think it's a good way to stretch your dollar.

Hmm, is there any way I could get that system in Canada? Doesn't seem like they ship here.
