DFW to MCO fare is say $450
If I get a hotel in MCO it makes it $300

Any problem getting the airfare + hotel deal and then not showing up at the hotel? Need to stay in a different city.

Why would there be? You've paid, you take your choice and you choose to eff off somewhere else. DO IT.

Which website is this through? Interesting... I've never tried to tack on Hotel reservations to actually decrease air fare costs, but maybe it's worth a shot...

Check the fine print... I'd bet you dollars to doughnuts that if you fail to check into the hotel, the airfare will revert to the higher amount plus cancellation fees for the hotel room.

I've been on many packaged deals like that and that's usually how they work.

I've booked package deals and not used a portion of them with no problem or added fees afterwards.

This was through Amex Travel. No fine print found, I'm a stickler for it.

It's a little Howard Johnson with no amenities. So there isn't some other product they are hoping I'll buy.

FWIW there were probably 8 or so hotels in the list that were cheaper than just the airfare.

The hotel is about 30 min from where I'll be, so it's not even a big deal to drive by and check-in/out without even going in the room.

You can go to http://www.travelocity.com

Put in TXK to MCO

10/31/07 to 11/02/07

1 person

Shows me $487 for Airfare, or $348 with hotel

I went ahead and booked it
