I stumbled upon this review of a Quadro board: http://tech.icrontic.com/articles/nvidia-quadro-fx-3800-review/
It seems there is a new "G100" design:
# 55nm process node
# 600MHz core clock
# 192 CUDA Cores
# 1GB 800MHz GDDR3
# 256-bit Memory Bus
# 51.2GBps memory Bandwidth
# 108W power consumption
Possibly swap in GDDR5 memory and a bit higher clocks, and it would make a very good upgrade for my 8800GT. That is, if Nvidia decides to release a desktop version.
