I'm using their hosting, and so far it's been rock solid. Although my site is pretty basic and I don't really use their features, they have a plethora of applets and such to be used. Loads plenty fast for me, even now while I'm in Korea :) www.shmoof.com if ya'd like to check out my pictures. The rates are very reasonable, so much so in fact that it's not really a necessity to use ads. Plus, it's RossMAN recommended it to me, so obviously it was a no-brainer :)

I don't know but that is a good question.

You're always welcome to contact their sales department and ask them.

Thank you for sharing your first hand experience with CookieHost.com

What do you think you'll do after the first year when the price goes back up to $39.95/yr?

Well, working a job back on campus will net me about $8-10/hr. It makes more than enough sense to spend 4-5 hours of my time to keep my site going :) ~$3/mo. really isn't that hard to come up with, even for a college student!

I NEVER recommend registering your domain with a web host.

Use a tried and true domain registrar such as GoDaddy.com or NameCheap.com

How come?
You always risk the chance of them claiming ownership of the domain.

And other registrars won't? How can they do that anyway?

How about when you need to switch Hosts...

If your host own your domain they can use some really mean tactics to keep signing up with them. Or they'll make it a pain in the ass for you to transfer.

Please just be smart and buy your own domain. I've just seen way too many situations where this kind of heavy handedness is used.

Is it possible to place 3 orders at the same time? Or is it possible to reorder again (single). I want to maximize the deal. But I only have one domain name. Any help?

So can you just sign up for a year? Or will they make you sign up for more than that so in the end you pay a more realistic price?

During the checkout it doesn't state auto renewing. Cookiehost doesn't seem too much of an evil host:evil: At the very least you can use a Virtual Credit Card and set a $5 limit

win-win situationsz?;)

How long did it take for them to set up your account? I paid about an hour ago but I haven't received an email from them and nothing appears under hosting plans.

I just signed up with them under their midi plan ($8 a year) and setup took less than 10 minutes :)
