I remeber last year there were tons of cheap (~$100) x600 VIVO cards, but now they seem to have all disappeared. Anyone know of any VIVO cards in this range?

Check with H.I.S. They are the #1 address for a broad selection of VIVO cards.

Unless you HAVE to have a VIVO card (like you're putting it in an HTPC chassis with only one expansion slot), you're almost always better off buying a regular video card and a dirt-cheap PCI tuner/video capture board.

Mathias,

you suggest: a cheap PCI tuner/video capture board, instead of a good card with VIVO on it...

any suggestions for such a card? or price range??

I'm selling a VIVO 6600GT for $125 right now. (check sig)

Besides that, the Happuage 150/250/350 add in pci cards are good. Best quality on the market after VIVO cards. (at least some VIVO cards, I honestly don't know how VIVO cards in general compare in their ability, but the AGP 8x bandwidth is theoretically a big boost that could eliminate image lag; not that regular tv viewing would suffer because it can just be buffered first but I think dscaler recommends agp cards)
