cheap upgradable general use

I configured this at newegg and was hoping people could offer advice on whether it needs improvement on if I can shave off cost somewhere. Here is the link to my wishj list on newegg. Everything looks okay, but there's some imporovements possible.

For one thing, you're missing optical drives, unless you're using your old drives for this new build.

SATA Hard drives aren't much faster than IDE (and sometimes slower). If you don't mind rebates, there's plenty of larger size drives for around the same cost after rebates. Check "Hot Deals" forum.

I"m not a PSU Nazi, but you should get a tad bit better PSU. PSU is something you don't upgrade very often, so spend a bit more on it. Get something from more reputable manufactures.

thanks for the advice. maybe i'll look at cases that don't come with a power supply and buy one seperately

You should get this memory instead. Corsair VS 1gig kit (2*512)
