Cheap TV Tuner which one?

I'm currently thinking of getting a TV tuner for my system.
So far these are the two models that I am seriously considering

1. Asus TV FM
2. Leadtek Winfast TV2000 XP Expert

All I'm looking for is a cheap (both are around $80 Canadian dollars) PCI based card (no need for hardware MPEG2), also I'm living in Toronto, which does make my choice of product kind of limited. Also I would like to get a tuner that can double as FM tuner.

Both use close to the same chips if not the exact same, but Asus, is not actively supporting the tuner. Latest drivers on their site are from two years ago and they don't even list in on their products page. Leadtek updated drivers two months ago. So, all things being equal, go with the Leadtek. I have the Asus and it's a great card, but I bought it when it was one of the only 10 bit cards available.

thanks HeroOfPellinor ... I've been looking all over the web for the information of this Asus card but no info at all ... by the way the Asus website says that their latest driver was dated April 2003 ... however there seems to be several version of this card, and the thing is that I have no clue which one is being sold here in Toronto ... on the other hand there was only one review that I found for the Leadtek, but the reviewer did gave it a negative for the sound quality ...

so if anyone has these card(s) could you please post your experience with them ... or point me to a review for them

I'm having no problems with the sound on my Leadtek, it is not 'missing' the highs. I think I red that same review when I was shopping for TV cards. The picture is quite good. I noticed a significant improvement when I turned on the AA in the control panel for my Radeon 9800 Pro. I haven't used the FM tuner yet, perhaps after we move I'll connect a FM antenna.

For $50 it's a grreat deal, IMO...

I have the ASUS card and it is great...really crystal clear sound and vid. Haven't felt the need for a new driver, but I have to agree that ASUS customer support sux chowda.

One quick question for those with the Asus tuner ... there seems to be two version that I found so far of this ... one is a normal type PCI card that has several input/output connectors and another that is a low form PCI card with only the TV and FM tuner connector on board ...

Does anyone know what's the difference between the two and if I were to get the Asus which one would I most likely end up with ... since most of the stores that I have asked got no clue which is which and all of them won't give full refund for an opened hardware ...
