Thanks for the compliment (re: idiots.) You could have pointed out a couple of the threads similar to what John did. However, you failed to do so and instead flamed this individual.Originally posted by: Pink0
Alright, all you guys who are criticing me this is what I have to say to you:
You're all idiots.
He's asking for help with a cheap TV tuner. If he does a search he will find no less than 7 threads asking and answering this very question. He will get more answers from those 7 threads more quickly than here. He asked a question. I gave him an answer. I may not have linked to all 7 threads but I told him where to find them.
Secondly, I've been here for much more than a month. In fact, I've been here since nov 2000. Having moved recently and formatted my hard drive (no more cookies) I lost my anandtech password. Since I dont' have the same ISP that I had before the move, they can't email me my password so my account is dead. Had to create a new one.
I've read good things about the MSI tuner. The card was in short supply when I purchased, so I went for the Leadtek.Originally posted by: KDOG
I've ordered the MSI Tv Tuner - I'll tell ya how it works when it gets here, tomorrow or the next day...

I don't have any experience with the MSI. The MSI seems to be carried by only a few vendors. However, the Leadtek is readily available - $60.99 (delivered) from NewEgg. Plus, the Leadtek has a remote control, FM tuner and other goodies. The Avermedia card is good. However, if you paid $49.99 for it from CompUSA + tax, then I'd definately look at the Leadtek card. If you paid less than $25 for the Avermedia card, then you might want to hold onto it.Originally posted by: JuicyFruit
well, after hearing what you guys are saying.
leadtek or msi?
~i'm totally considering returning this avertv stereo for one of those.
