Yeah. I'll be using these guys. 37 bucks for my damn math class sure beats the 80 some the college bookstore wanted. Nuts to them.

just ordered a textbook through them last night. they showed up as a "third party vendor" through barnes and noble's website.

i accidentally chose the slowest shipping though, hope i get it in time. it's a "Black and white international version with the exact same content as the hardcover"....whatever that means. it's literally half what the bookstore wanted though

Its been a couple of years, but I used to save a ton of money by ordering from www.amazon.co.uk. At the time they had a coupon for 5 pounds off, which was about equal to shipping costs. To cover the length of shipping time, I just bought books from the bookstore and returned them when my shipment came.

Good Idea!!!

Yeah just think of all the trees they would save.

Not only that but it would be a lot easier to just go the next rev of a book... There are sooo many different versions of a book just so someone can make a few bucks while our environment suffers.

Oh well.... Notice how the books keep getting bigger? Now you have a reason to buy that Gas HOG SUV ... Not only will you be supporting terrorist but you will need it to carry around all those text books. *TIMBER!!!!!!!!!!!*

Seems like a good deal for the penny pincher that gets raped by the universities overpriced books....

Don't you mean Alibris?

May have to do some searching on these sites for books, and return some of the ones I bought at the campus bookstore, for a total of $479.xx.

That's not the main reason why that have newer editions and such. I'd go on but I gotta go get some sleep and I'm sure Google.com has your answers =P

I say try all of them. I usually compare half.com to amazon.com and usually amazon.com turns out to be better for me.

Edit: Sorry for the double post. Dunno what I was thinking...

Nice thread, saved myself a couple a lot of money with it, however I would not deal with alibris.com I searched for a book and it showed one used copy available, I tried to add it to a cart and got the following message "We're sorry, another customer just purchased that item. We've selected another available copy of that title for you." Items in stock - zero. OOOOOOOK.... closed the browser, opened alibris again, searched once more - what do you know - one used book available, tried to add it to a cart again and got the same message that somebody else just bought it. Repeated the process third time just to make sure - yep, the same result...

In short: scumbags...
