I'm looking for a 5 port switch that has a DHCP server. If there is such a product someone please let me know. Thanks.

Generally switches don't have a DHCP servers.

The soho routers have this funtionality for ease of use - it just so happens that they have a 1-5 port switch built-in.

Most all DSL routers have some form of dhcp by default. You don't have to use the DSL if you don't want to. They work fine.

Got anymore Jack cheap isn't always better. I go for quality, somewhat. $50 is my limit on this one.

If I was looking for a router I would have asked for one. Let's try and stay in touch with the subject.

Ok, on subject.

No switches have DHCP servers.

There are other products that do, but you have stated you are only interested in a switch and not anything that routes.

Jack linked you to a ROUTER!

I know what u are trying to do. Why dont u buy the chip for $25 for your Sonicwall/webramp to make it unlimited users, get the 5 port 10/100 gigafast from Newegg (there is your $50). Plug your pc's into the switch and plug an uplink port of the switch to one of the LAN ports in the webramp. That way your LAN has the 100mb u want and u will have more then 5 IP addys allowed for internet.
Then u ont have to be double Natting like u are right now.

By the way the double NATing as you call it isn't really that bad. People do this all the time. Like I said I did get syslog working. So now there really is no reason at all for me to get a switch unless it has a DHCP server in it. Obviously, most switches don't have DHCP servers so needless to say I won't be getting a switch anytime soon. But, I am interested in the chip. Got a link?

If u get the chip, you dont need one with a dhcp server :)

Using the 10/100 switch you will get the 100 u looking for, see;

It's not really double NATing.

You NAT once yes. But then you're just creating additional networks after that. Quite typical in my field.

You'll have to email him for it, or read the webramp thread in the hotdeals forum about it.

He also auctions them of on ebay which is where I got mine for $35 or so, but after that, he posted on the ARS forum that if u drop him an email letting him know u saw it on the forum, he will sell it to you for $25
