cheap stable socket A board

I just got an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe (rev 2.0) off the FS/FT forum here on anand for $40, shipped.

Didn't get a chance to test it out, though - the other board that many people use is the ABIT NF7(?)

I like my Abit KW7 quite a bit (KT880 based). Asrock has some nice Sock A mobos too - even some that can convert to 64-bit by a daughter card. Froogle is your friend...

my ecs k7s5a was rock solid stable, and fast too. I owned mine for over 4 years without any problems. (I just broke down and got an athlon 64)

Actually, I tried to use an S2G version last year and had nothing but trouble with it, startung with its dislikes of many popular DDR choices. I would be glad to sell that POS to anyone willing to be saddled with its many foibles.

:disgust:
