Cheap-@ss graphics solutions?

Alright...I wanna get a pretty good gfx card, and I've got $50, max $60 dollars to burn...so whatcha got for me? I can't find a Geforce 256 SDR for the life of me, and I know I could get a TNT2 w/32MB or a Viper 2 for $30-40, but is there no better? Or can I get one of those cheaper than that? 😕

Check PriceWatch.com. You can get a GF2 MX 32mb for less than $50. Or a Voodoo4. Or a SDR GeForce. Personally, I'd go with the MX.

Are you sure you can't stretch it to $70 and get a Radeon LE? That really is the best bargain right now.

sell your Tnt then you can come up with a little bit more money for even a Geforce DDR or gefroce2... as your tnt... wait.. that's a banshee I guess.. anyway, sell your old card to put more money into the purchase of the new card.

You could sell your ass as a rent boy for an extra few bucks. That way u could stretch to a 32mb Kyro 2. In the UK they're £60. So I reckon thats got to be about $70-$80 in the US, don't know where u'd get one though. It'll perform as well as a GeForce 2, so should be worth the arse pain and sitting down problems you may experience.

Actually might not be such a good idea on a K6-2 system, it may be worth spending the $60 on a mobo and processor upgrade of sorts. U should b able to get a cheap BX somewhere and a Celeron 633 to overclock to 1Ghz. Do that first b4 the graphics. Don't know about compatibility between the Kyro and SS7 boards.

Wingznut is right. Skip McDonald's for a few days and get the Radeon LE. Those <$50 MXs are 64-bit SDR memory - the slowest MXs you'll ever see. I wish someone would review one of those things, because people see the price and don't comprehend what they're getting.
