Cheap speaker setup for TV?

My parents have a 53" TV, it's pretty nice... but they use the internal speakers that came with it and it sounds very muffled and you have to turn it up really loud. I am looking for a two speaker setup just to remedy this problem (don't need surround or anything)

Does anyone have any recommendations? Looking to minimize cost 🙂

You could use those Bose Computer speakers that Best Buy carries. $100, and pretty good sound.

These Altec Lansings are pretty nice conencted to a TV. They were like $20 AR a few weeks ago at Circuit City...

i dunno if they sell these anymore, but i had one of these hooked up to a TV, for a modest speaker upgrade: TVWorks 250
