So my Lenovo Edge E520 (out of mfg warranty) crapped out a couple weeks ago and I took it to a shop which quoted me a repair bill of $1000+ (which was 2x the original price). The repair shop also confirmed my suspicion that the motherboard had died.
I called up Lenovo parts and supplies department and they quoted me a price of $400 for the replacement board.
Are there cheaper sources for the mobo? i tried ebay/amazon and didn't turn anything up. Is the laptop toast and should I sell it for spare parts?
I did find this one: but I dunno if this would be compatible with my laptop...

Plus it's only $268 for a brand new lenovo at Fry's at the moment.
