Don't expect any miracles. Screamer fans will still beat on your ears, the case won't be acting as a sounding board, though. More of a finishing touch to an already quiet system than a cure for most noise problems. Haven't tried the Pax Mate, may be more effective than Dynamat products, dunno....

Like I mentioned in another thread, I would suggest using both (Dynamat first, then Paxmate). Since Dynamat deadens vibrations and Paxmate absorbs fan noise, they would seem to be complementary products. Just put the Paxmate on top of the Dynamat. Unfotunately I applied the Paxmate first in my case, so it's too late to add Dynamat.

Hey guys, I got the answer for ya...Go to www.partsexpress.com, and do a search for sound insulation. They have an asphalt based insulator in 12x12 sheets for about 1.50 each that have adhesive on one side. They add weight to your box, but are very effective at blocking fan noise.

There are several threads going on this topic right now. A cheap alternative to Dynamat can be found at roofing supply stores. Lowes for one has stuff called "Peel and Seal". It's virtually identical to Dynamat. Costs about 8$-12$ for a roll 6"x25' (that's feet). Enough to do two computers.
