What's a cheap sound card with Digital output? Either SPDIF or Optical output will do... I have a SB Live X-Gamer with a digital output, but it doesn't use a standard connector...

Thanks,

Just get an adapter from Radio Shack to go from the 1/8" output on the SB Live to an RCA like on your receiver. Should cost less than $5.

Will that work? does it use the same config? Hmmm, puts a whole new twist on things. :D

Yep, it will work. The digital out on the SB Live is SPDIF, i.e., the same format and signal as used by the digital coaxial inputs on audio components.

However if I recall correctly some of the SB Live cards have their digital output level set too high. Some receivers are fine with that and others are not. But you won't hurt it by trying.
