So I was at Ralph's today in yuppie West LA..and there this woman who was about 50 or so, who had a Prada bag and expensive designer clothes from waht I could tell.

However she took absolutely forever in the line because she carried with her 50 different coupons for everything she bought. She made sure the lady working at the register got each and every one of them in, and even complained that a brand of toilet paper that she had a coupon for wasn't in stock..so she brought out the manager and had him write an IOU for that toilet paper for when it was back.

Do people act like annoying douchebegas for the sake of it?

Other than her asking for an IOU on that toilet paper I don't think she didn't anything wrong - she might have gotten to a point where she is by being cheap, nothing wrong with using a few extra minutes in line to save money.

Edit: I shouldn't say that the raincheck was wrong either, but meant to say that it's the only thing I could have found to be annoying if they had to wait for a manager, the wait can be quite a while sometimes.

I believe there is a book about "low key" rich people titles "The Millionaires Next Door" (I am not 100% on the title. Basically, some rich people are thrifty and I can respect that. If you've had to work really hard or came from humble beginnings, you know the value of a dollar.

Just because you have money doesn't mean you need to waste it. Also, just because you like nice things doesn't mean you shouldn't search for the best deal.

In my experience, the more money you make the more careful you are with it. I'm sure there's a point where it doesn't matter anymore, but most people never achieve such wealth.

QFT!!

Rich people don't typically stay rich by spending millions of dollars. If they did, 2nd grade math would tell you they'd be broke before long.

Let's see here, the options are:

a)use coupons and save money
b)be a lazy ass and not use coupons

Free money FTW

there's this saying, if the time is worth it for you to clip coupons, you don't make enough money. :D

I clip coupons and give them to the girl who lives across the street. She is a stay at home mom of two young kids. Her hubby works, one income. She could use the savings.

Does that count as 1 or b?

I've thought about that but when you look at it from a point of view of opportunity cost, it might work out. You might be clipping them on a sunday morning while eating breakfast or something instead of watching TV. I guess you're only technically right if you choose to clip coupons over work.

Sorry for getting too technical ;)

You also don't buy Prada bags.
