Cheap PCI-Express video card recommendation

I've decided that my ULI motherboard is crap so I need to upgrade. Currently I have an AGP 6800 video card. Unfortunately this means either an nforce 3 motherboard (about $50 for an ecs) or an nforce 4 and a new PCI x video card.

Each time a new card is made they should benchmark every video card ever made since the voodoo one so I can figure these things out.

Edit: Obviously I meant pci express.

Thanks the help.

PCI-X eh? I dont think you will find any gaming video cards for that version of PCI, you should check out PCI-Express.

There arn't any PCI-X video cards. Sorry. (nForce4 doesn't natively support PCI-X either)

I think Matrox makes a few PCI-X graphics cards, but they are not for the mainstream market.

For the OP I have several choices for you:

Under$200-X850XT or 7600GT
~$300:7900GT or X1800XT
>300-X1900XT or 7900GTX (if you can find one)

Look around in the videos section for comparisons on how these perform

Thanks for the help. Really more than I wanted to spend. I think I'll just suck it up and get an nforce 3. (And it looks like an add in sata card.)

You could just buy the ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 Motherboard and use the 6800 AGP or upgrade to a PCI-e graphics card. I'm sure others will point you tob the right ones but X1900XTX is the fastest you can get (overall).
