Cheap Office 2010 licenses - scam?

I'd say it's not a scam, but a seller that bought something he doesn't understand.

This would definitely be an illegal licensed piece of software.

this could be a legit offer as many companies partner with Microsoft to offer Office as a very cheap price. from my own company i bought Office 2010 for about $20 a while back. How the seller managed to get so many copies to sell is a mystery.

I know big companies can get those nice 'buy office for work and employees get home copies for cheap' deals, but with a total of 17 computers in the office, we're not gonna be there anytime soon. lol

I just posted an ad in FSFT and think I already got a good offer. Win for the forums.

Barking, if you don't believe in maximizing value for your company (especially when handling acquisitions) I don't know what to tell you. Besides, if we were trying to get 'the best for free' I'd hardly be going out of my way to acquire through legal channels now would I?

I'm sure our customers will hate us for maximizing value instead of spending more to "speak well for our company." lol

Do you also assume that everyone who doesn't drive a sports/luxury car is poor?

We need half a dozen Office licenses, any version that includes Word, Excel, and Outlook is fine. 2007 or newer.

Found this on eBay and it smells fishy. What do you guys think?

Will they install, activate, and work? More than likely yes.

Will Microsoft be kind to you if they audit your business? No.

Would I risk my job buying these copies for someone else? No.

I just got very lucky and picked off 4 legit retail copies for a very low price, I doubt I'll get that same deal for a long time. You're looking at buying something like this:

If you're running Windows 7 and they don't use macros in word or excel, you can install the starter edition of Office 2010 then add on a standalone Outlook 2010 copy and save some money that way. But if you go that route you're going to be mixing different office versions on the machines based on what can be purchased, rather than every machine has the exact same configuration.

Those deals are only for employees of the company, and are not licensed for resale.

Why would Microsoft allow sales through a 3rd party business priced 1/25th of their own retail pricing? Doesn't make any sense.

The BSA is very kind; and firm... You pay what they tell you pay, and everyone is happy. Regardless of what one does as a private entity, keeping things legit in a business is a must. If I couldn't afford properly licensed software as a business, I'd use something else. I'd use something other than Office anyway, but that's a different discussion.

HUP agreements are never for resale.

Please say you didn't google for this first.

Hermes is a big designer...not so popular in the pop culture like Gucci, LV, Chanel, Coach.

My ex-wife from Japan bought her first Hermes Clipper watch with her first real bonus check...then lost it the same night she wore it out. 🙁

I found her another on eBay that actually came from Japan and was surprising small, but fit her wrist perfectly. It's possible it was her original watch.

looked like that I think...I posted an image of it somewhere on here a few years ago.

U bet, Hermes. Hermes, in France, long ago, not sure when, started off as the premier saddle makers of the world. Then, over time, they broadened into all manner of leather goods.....then scarves, then other fashion items. They are now most famous for their handbags.....esp the Birkin bag, which pretentious females lust for and have to have just to feel marginally worthy.....they start at 10K and go beyond 100K.

I am not making this up.🙄

Only shallow, New Money humans think this. Which is why they HAVE TO drive pretentious vehicles, carry Hermes (the females), have status phones, etc.

Also this has nothing to do with a company need vs a private individual that wants PhotoShop CS9000 for $20.

He said it's a business need and IMHO for a business he many already be out of scope possibly.

Jus caught this! Pls see my most recent post. Nice watch!🙂 But were I of that ilk (I am not), I would choose a vintage Patek over anything else in the world.

And Hermes doesn't simply design things, it makes its own leather goods. By hand.

I was responding to the OP's comment, which I thought was a fine rhetorical question in response to someone's post.

Even good software is not LINEAR. And analogies are a rich part of life; they foster perspective. Yes, including re technology where they may be especially precious.

I get it. A $300-500 daily wear watch at my pay grade is obtainium. A $10k-20k watch I can't consider for daily wear. 🙂 I don't want to derail this thread and get an infraction though so that's all I can add to this.

I heah U. But, that you were being literate and clarifying in response to someone's post via yr rhetorical question.....I feel was a good thing.

Important to remember, we are HUMANS EMPLOYING technology lest we loose our most precious stuff.😎

End of Hermes section.:sneaky:

I am convinced you will unearth the most cost efficient route to getting Office on all those systems. I guess I would contact MS directly and ask what comprises mass licensing or what kinda deal they can cut you. No downside to that; U can not know unless you ask.

And bet you don't have to be some giant amalgamator of systems.
