I currently use mightyfax for faxing, but I really want to be able to print to fax over the network. Is there any cheap fax program that could do this?

thanks.

IF you can install a fax handler on a system which has a fax modem, you may be able to then share the "fax printer" across the network and print to it just like any other printer.

mightyfax uses the fax printer approach, but it doesn't work when shared because it opens a special program after the print command that handles number, name, cover sheet, etc.

We use Symantec WinFax Pro 10. It's about $85. It works as a "printer device" and can be shared from a computer with a fax-modem over a network. However, it does *NOT* play nice in a mixed OS environment. E.G., the "Fax Server" machine is Win2K, all the clients should be Win2K. A Win98 client will sometimes lock up its session with the server and cause it to stop responding to the entire network, then you have to reboot it.

And if you feel like buying the oem version its like $10. Works great.

I tried a demo of winfax before and my only impression of it was that it was unGodly slow and bloated and a real resource hog. I need to run the fax server on a very low power machine.
