My dad wants to get my mom a cheap MP3 player for Christmas this year. My mom doesn't need a lot of space, I'm sure 1GB or 2GB would be sufficient. So far the only thing I've seen that fits the bill is a 2GB iPod Nano which goes for $150. I'll be honest, I'm pretty clueless with MP3 players... the last one I bought was my iPod Mini a couple years ago. Any suggestions?

Sansa e250

I'm sure it can be found cheaper elsewhere as well, plus 10% rebate.

Pros over nano:
Drag and drop music
FM tuner
MicroSD expansion
Cheaper
Bigger, better screen

Cons:
Slightly less battery life
Larger
No iTunes

iPods are a good choice because iTunes is very easy to use for a non-techie.

For her existing CDs, put them in the CD drive while iTunes runs and it rips.

For new music, iTunes store is the easiest to use and has the largest selection.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'm going suggest the Nano. It comes in pink too, which is a plus since it's her favorite color.
