I have a 100 ? budget for new processor. Looking at the price list at mindfactory.de, which is where I am going to buy my parts from, they have this selection :

Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 2.60GHz 800MHz S775 2MB 65nm tray -- 91 ?
Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2,53GHz 1066MHz S775 3MB Box -- 97 ?
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33GHz 1333MHz S775 4MB 65nm Box -- 100 ?
Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 2.6GHz 800MHz S775 2MB 65nm Box -- 105?
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33GHz 1333MHz S775 4MB 65nm tray -- 115?

The higher the E number, the faster it is, right ? So I am thinking about buying the E7200.

I have no idea about the mobo though, just need something that can fulfill the following specs :

The box will have 2 SATA Harddrives and one IDE harddrive and one IDE DVD drive.
Not sure if newer Mobos still support IDE, if not then its not a big deal

A new 2GB DDR2 will be installed, have 50? budget on this.

An ancient MSI NX6600 GT will be installed until I buy a newer graphic card. Have a 150-200 ? budget on this one, will buy it next month.

Overclocking capabilities of the mobo is not a factor.

Also, how powerful should my power supply be for the newer graphic card... say a 9800GT ?

Thanks for your help

EDIT:
Oh yeah, have around 100? budget for the mobo though its flexible at this point

I like my msi board for stability. It has a lowly g31 chipset with a pin modded e4300. The 4xxx series is pretty fast; check out the pin mod posts; I would like to try the 1333 pin mod, but don't know if it works in a 4xxx cpu. Don't know about your brand selection of power supplies. I use antec; I suggest a 550w model; it should weigh at least 4 lbs and cost about $80 or more; a cheapo ps is lightweight and inexpensive. Newegg has an antec 550w on special for $60 with free shipping, but you're probably in the uk.

Just get the cheapest G31 chipset board.

If you do decide to overclock, just pin mod (if you don't have BIOS adjustments) that E7200 to FSB 1333 for 3.16GHz.

Get a $100 P35 board. Set the FSB to 333, and your E7200 will be running at 3.16GHz on stock voltage. Basically, a completely free and fully stable overclock without overclocking the RAM or stressing the motherboard. The E7200 is just asking to be OC'd, you'll be surprised how easy it is.
