MACRO SHOT EXTENSION RING
Macro Close Up Lens (looks like a filter)

My lens is a 28-90 canon lens
I'm a photography n00b saying that i got my camera earlier this month.
Present from parents.

Thanks for the help.

I'm not exactly sure how a zoom works with a reverse mount ring or a macro filter.. but I've heard and seen good results from people with the reverse mount plus a 50mm prime.

Other than the 50mm's on the market now, few lenses are ideal for reverse mounting. Additionally Canon EF lenses pose some problems in setting the apature when reversed. What I'd suggest is buying a MF 50mm (Canon, Nikon or a Pentax SMC (One of the best 50mm's made)) to reverse if thats your plan.

The other option would be to get some close up filters. These will reduce image quality somewhat, but depending on print size you may find them useful (I never have).

Finally you could get some extension tubes. Your 28-90 won't be ideal on tubes as there is some (albeit minor) light loss with them.

If you buy AF tubes pick up a 50mm 1.8 to use with it...it's also a decent low light lense.

You're that big into collages?
