I'm still a newb to this forum, but I have to put this out here because no one else has (as far as I have searched). I got an email from CNET discussing the "world's cheapest laptop" which is a Medison Celebrity (never heard of it) for $150.
Stats are pretty barebones, including:
14 inch WXGA display, weight of 4.8 lbs, 1.5 GHz Intel Celeron M 370 processor, 256 of memory. It runs on Fedora Linux, and has a 40 GB hard drive, an integrated Via PN800 graphics chip, and 802.11g Wi-Fi. 3 USB 2.0 ports, and a PC Card slot. There's supposedly a one year warranty.
Check their website for more info: The Medison Celebrity websitehere
Here's the blog on it: Crave (via CNET)
What do you guys think? Is this legit? Is it a piece of junk? A hot deal?
This is like my 2nd or 3rd post so go easy on me.
Since it will be a long, long time before anyone can even get one of these if the deal should possibly turn out to be real, I'm going to lock this. Anyone who ordered and who gets theirs, please let us know. I know I won't be totally shocked if it doesn't come.
