I just read about this ISP and seems all good. I will be signing up for it since my 7/7 will raise the rate to $14.95 on May 23. I just wonder how the news groups service is. I hear a lot of good things about it here. Wonder if anyone has any negatives about them please give some input so we all know about them.
Thanks for looking.

I never use this ISP before, but I strongly suggest you pay by the month.

My cousin paid for 1 full year of service when signing up with CheapAccess.net
Things stop working after 2 months. Now he can't even get a hold of the company to get a refund.

OT: By the way, does anyone know what happen to CheapAccess.net?

Yeah, that happened to me too with another company. But when they went out of business, they were bought out by earthlink.net, which continued my service for the remainder of my yearly contract. Then after that year, the rates were the same as earthlink.net rates.

If you decide to sign up with them go through this link to avoid the $8 sign up fee. You may want to check freedomlist.com to see what people are saying about them.

Phuje you may want to read this thread on Freedomlist.

I use Hawkaccess.

Reading freedom list, I see that they are associated. (Same company, different name)
I pay $8.95 a month. I Usually connect within 2-3 time.
My line speed is normally about 49333bps.

I will probable change over to access4less next month when my hawkacces runs out.
It will save my another $3.00 per month.

A definite deal.

I have been using Access4Less in Chicago (downtown North Loop) for a few months. I normally connect on the first try, and at 48000 bps. For websurfing, it's fine. In fact, I'm using it right now. They bill month by month, and you just can't beat the price for no irritating pop-up ads. They do have a policy of disconnecting users that don't show any internet activity for awhile, but it's never happened to me unless I forget to log off.

My lag is fairly high for online games. But maybe that's because I use an ISA modem.

I've actually never used the newsgroups. Hmmm...maybe I should look it up.
