I found a site offering a 300+ piece of hardware for well under 250$ where as before the lowest price on could find on pricegrabber.com or pricewatch.com was $333US, today I find a site on pricewatch.com selling the same hardware for $230.... their sales told me its a brand new retail box piece of hardware... they're having now blowouts or liquidation type sales so how are they doing it? If I suspect I'm getting refurb'd hardware how can I tell for sure

If it's a refurb then I believe it's required by law that there be a refurbished sticker somewhere on the box or hardware itself. Go to resellerratings.com to check the credibility of the company. What is it?.....because a lot of hardware isn't offered refurbished. The general rule is that if something is too good to be true then it probably is.

If it's a retail box and still factory sealed then it's probably new. If you do decide to buy it then just check the box or the drive itself for a refurbished sticker.
