Cheap Good Quality LCD Monitor?

My girlfriend is obsessed with having a "Thin Monitor" for her dorm room this fall - and I've always bought CRT's, as I just can't stand the picture coming out of an LCD, so I need some advice. Who makes high quality cheap LCDs? She won't be too picky, as she just wants it because "Its thin and cute...:roll:" so the size doesn't really matter. It will be used for 2D stuff, she just checks email and does the web and spider solitaire....

So any suggestions?

My number one choice for LCD's would be Samsung (and Dell, which I've heard use Samsung screens). Top to bottom, they make great LCD's for every price point.

Try looking on eCost.com for some really good deals on LCD's. You can probably find a decent one there in your price range, both 15" and 17". Keep in mind that the viewing area is larger on a LCD so a 15" LCD isn't a bad size, especially if you're not gaming and it's for a dorm room.
