i find this site to be one of the lower price and free shipping after $127. So i got one Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump with Tote for $142 (now $147) for my wife to use with our first born. It took one week to ship and no tracking. But i got an email for receiving the order.
The Medela Pump in style $188 are also a good one. Usually sale for over 250 at amazon.com

The Medela is the same unit you would get from a hospital. They are the top of the line and was the most recommended brand when we were looking. They cost more, but in this case you do get what you pay for.

i heard the nurse (teach breast feeding) said ameda is the same manufacturer as medela. not sure its a fact or not.

Get a good elec. pump is a must as the motor with the cheaper one are not up to the 4-6 times pump daily

I just re-read my post and realize it might have come off wrong. I don't know anything about the Ameda brand. I was trying to get at what you just said in that you can't expect to go cheap on one of these and expect it to do a good job or last very long.....

Here is another good site: Kidalog

It is a Canadian company that also has great prices on the Medela Pump in Style thanks to the exchange rate difference for US buyers. They sell it for around $275 Canadian delivered, which comes out to around $175-180, also a great deal. We ordered from them and were very pleased.

While I can't comment on the Medela... I can on the Ameda. We purchased one for my wife, and she used it alot! We had to return it twice in the 11 months that she used it. It seemed like the electric motors failed? Not sure exactly, but they stopped working. The company was very fast on sending the replacements though. They would overnight them and supply a prepaid label for return shipping the defective one. But if this happened on a friday it meant waiting till Monday to get the replacement. An eternity when you are talking about maintaining the supply, and keeping baby fed. If we were to do it again, I think we would pay the extra and get the Medela.
