Cheap ebay CF tripods

Specifically this. Weighs only 2.5lb. Sounds good for a travel friendly tripod. Has anyone used one of these before?

[Edit]what? there is censoring for the link now?[/Edit]

Can't see your link, but a google for FT6821 tripod did the trick. The brand seems to be called Fancier - a Chinese brand.

Here's some discussions about Fancier CF tripods - not specifically yours:

From the sounds of it, it looks pretty decent. I have no experience with it though. I bought the other cheap ebay CF tripod brand: Dynatran. Amnova used to sell them, though they don't seem to have any active auctions anymore. My tripod was the Dynatran CF994. Stable and tall, but weighs as much as the popular, non-CF Manfrotto (I forget the model). Mine came with a ball head which is more than adequate for my XTi + 70-200mm F4L.

Thanks. Yeah, you'll have to replace the **** part in the url with cgi dot ebay to see the link.

It is a Chinese WEIFENG brand like one of your links mentioned. Looks like it might be worth it, and it'll be my traveling tripod if the claimed weight of 2.5lb is true. Should be able to hold my D90 w/ 18-200 lens, if not I can upgrade the head.

don't know about this particular brand, I have another Chinese brand called Benro which is great value. one of the major complain about these kind of tripod is that the lever thingy it used to fasten the legs could break easily, as they are weaker comparing to Manfrotto's. If you could find one that has the screw type fastener it might be better.

If you are looking to buy a decent CF tripod without spending the major cash that the better known brands require I would look into Feisol. They are a Chinese manufacturer but they dont make cheap knockoffs. I have their CT-3401 and I love it. If you read around on the various camera forums you will see a lot of love for them there as well. I ended up waiting for Ebay cashback to get high enough then snagged one from there. You should check them out.
