I'm looking to put together a system soon and don't wanna spend too much on a video card since I'm not a big gamer (I don't game at all anymore on my ancient 1 ghz Ahtlon w/Creative Labs Geforce 2 GTS video card).
I'm looking for something w/cheap w/3D perf comparable to the Nvidia 6600 (non-GT ok) or ATI X700 and I don't wanna spend too much (<$200 is much preferred). It must have dual DVI and be PCIe.
My search at newegg turned up http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi...xPrice=&SubCategory=48&Submit=Property. I hear XFX is Pine which is another name for PC Chips (which makes crap). I saw a few ok reviews for the Powercolor X700 dual dvi, but people here say Powercolor sucks. I've never even heard of them until 2 days ago.
The PNY VCG6600GXPB listed there for $180 AR is getting a little spendy for me.
I don't think I even care about Matrox since it seems like they dropped out of the 3D perf wars ages ago.
ATI offers my company a special price on the retail X700 Pro w/256 megs (1 VGA, 1 DVI) for $125, so if nothing suits my needs, I'll end up doing that instead and maybe getting some other 2nd el-cheapo card w/DVI to drive the 2nd monitor.
