I currently own Intel Pentium 4 lga775 2.93GHz computer system. For recent computer needs my computer is very slow ( long loadings, slow overall..). I was thinking about getting a new PC for next Xmas, but it's too long. I was thinking about getting cheapest dual-core just for now. Will a dual-core fit wit my current fan something like this with clip-on, because my mobo doesn't have screw holes ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835102003 )
I'm not willing to pay more than 100 bucks.

Ok about this I'm not sure. I though if i have LGA 775 socket, it will be ok. My mobo is Asus P5GD2-X Series X. The Chipset is 915P

the 915P chipset doesn't support Pentium D's or Core2Duos so sorry dude, but you're out of luck with that Motherboard. you need a new one to go dual-core.
