cheap disposable write-once memory cards?

occasionally when I'm on a trip, I'll run out of space on my digicam, and be forced to delete some shots to free it up. nobody wants to delete pictures they've taken, so I was wondering if it would be possible to make some kind of write-once memory card that's compatible with standard sm, cf, etc, but cheap enough to be sold at drug stores and vending machines, in case you run out of space on your card. with a film camera, all you have to do when you run out of film is go to a nearby store and pick up another roll, so it would be nice if the same could be done with a digicam
