Cheap Car Insurance for a 19yr Old? In IL.

I'm 23 and in IL. Geico costs about $300 less every 6 months than Allstate for me ... (1200 vs 900) ... 1999 300M and 1 Ticket on my record.
Geico

Some company called Country Insurance has sent me junk mail with claims of lower rates (they say between 60 0 and 700), However I recently had to file a claim thru Geico (hail damage ... about $6500 worth of damage) And they did a damn good job covering everything .. and i am very happy with their service ... so I'm sticking with it.

I'm betting Country insurance would probably have the lowwest rate, however I am not so sure about their credibillity. Geico has been great for me though.

Whats a rough estimate for me to insure myself on a 91-94 caprice with basic liability(IE the car is a worthless POS and if I get into a major accident I can live without it) 19 years old without any tickets/accidents. And I live in the outer burbs of Chicago.

Wow. Consider yourself lucky. I'm $1666 (mark of the beast) for 6 months

if you're going for the minimum liability insurance, try going to a brokerage and maybe they can set you up with a state run program with low rate. california has the assigned risk program but i dont' know if illinois has a similar one. anyways, a brokerage can do some shopping for you and give you the best price without you having to call multiple companies.

Try Mercury insurance. They're pretty much the cheapest here in Cali, and although they're a bit anal, they're definitely solid enough. You'll need to go through a broker. Safeco would be one of the most expensive I imagine.
