Cheap, but good soundcard

I sometimes put systems together for others, and none of the people use the Dolby 4.1 or 5.1 capabilities of the better sound cards. What are some good, but cheaper alternatives for music lovers and mild gamers?

The Creative Vibra128, PCI64 and PCI128 has worked fine for me for quite some time now. It's quite cheap and it does produce some good sound. Can't compare to any high end cards coz I haven't owned one... Unless you consider the Gravis Ultrasound to be one.. I do 😀

I have heard good things about C-Media Chips in soundcards, or you can try looking for an older Aureal Chipset card they should be cheap by now 🙂

Good Luck
