Why not? You can get a multimeter for $5 that does FAR more than that tester.

whats the multimeter reading for a good battery? just the volts? i notice they sell multimeters for aroudn 10 bucks

what i'm wonder is as rechargables age does their peak voltage drop? is there a way to tell how worn they are basically
