cheap AMD mobo with LAN and sound

My friend is building a new computer, and he's trying to go fairly cheap. He's trying to find a sub-$80 motherboard with onboard LAN and sound, and I'm just not seeing anything great in the VIA chipsets. Does anyone have a board that they'd like to recommend, or would you suggest a different chipset?

The usual suspect for that would be ECS K7S5A. Around $55.

Building an Athlon system, make sure you use an adequate power supply unit, get quality RAM, and assemble carefully, keeping the focus on proper cooling.

regards, Peter

I've built many with kt75a's and they are great econo-non-oc boards for $55ish at newegg...

Right now I'm using the $74 Shuttle AK35GT2 and I like it better since I can bump my 1600+ up to 2100+ ;-)

I vote for the Shuttle AK35GT2

U had a AK35GTR (the KT266a version) and it rocked. It has a 5.1ch sound card, but no lan. You can get a Lan card for $5-10 dollars now adays, or free after mail in rebate at some places
