Cheap AM2 Motherboard

If you are looking for a cheap AM2 socket motherboard, then go over to ZipZoomFly and take a look at this one. I have not used it, but if you are on a tight budget, this might be an option for you (Link). It uses an nForce chipset and has on-board video to boot.

imo if you are going to buy this might as well buy the fry's combo with similar budget board and sell the cpu to get the board for free.

but that's assuming your market includes a fry's

so-so deal. if you are paying for a mobo fork a tiny bit more for one with a full 16x pcie lane

What chipset is the Fry's board? this is a Nvidia GeForce 6100 + (which is pretty good IMO).

This MB sells for around $60 shipped at the other etailers so $45 shipped is a good price. This would be nice for a low cost build. You can pick up an AM2 Sempron 64 3000+ retail for $30 shipped at NE and DDR2 RAM prices are falling like crazy.

great deal on a great board, 6100 is essentially NF4 with onboard video.
and you can get a dual core X2 3800+ cpu for like $65.00 at Newegg.

great if you don't need a E4300 core 2 Duo.

No idea as to why all those onboard video mobos don't come with DVI...Isn't VGA dead or dying?

The manual only shows DDR freq/voltage settings. I'm guessing it doesn't have any ocing features.

The fry's board is a 6100. pretty much identical to this one.

even has the 8x pci-e lane like this one.

might as well... 89 bucks gets you this board plus a dual core cpu.. 99 gets you the 4400x2 oem
