Cheap airline tickets?

I'm looking at flying in late august and need to get some cheap airline tickets.... Where does everyone here go to get theirs? I tried expedia but it seemed pretty expensive... is there anything better? Thanks!

Summer is expensive to travel by air unless you book WAY in advance. It depends on where you are traveling from and where you are traveling to. Try Priceline or hotwire if you are flexible in your travel schedule or don't care about mile. Try Qixo because they search most of the airline websites. Also, southwest is good if you don't mind the connections and the lack of food.

Try to go to expedia or travelocity like these folks said. I wouldn't purchase the flight from them, I would use it as reference as to who has the best deals. Once you see who the cheapest is on those two sites, go to that airlines own website, sometimes you can get it cheaper doing it that way. For example ATL-PIT on Delta was 141.50 on travelocity after taxes and crap, go to delta.com it was 136.50. Save five dollars, gas money to get to the airport.

There's no golden rule here, you'll need to look both on travel sites as well as airline sites directly. Never assume the prices are the same everywhere.
