I need help finding 2 tickets from Wash. DC to DFW. There's a family emergency in Texas and me and my wife need to get there this weekend. I've tried priceline but the cheapest offer I could get was ~$500 for both tickets. As a last resort, I'm going to get those but I'm hoping to get something cheaper if possible and I'm hoping you guys might have an idea.
I can leave anytime after Thursday afternoon and need to come back by Sunday. Leave it to my parents to let something like this happen on such short notice (And yes it could have been prevented)

TIA for any help.

And also check fares from other airports you can drive to within a couple hours.

Expedia show $300 per person.

Consider driving - 1 long day but cheaper than two people flying on short notice.

Try priceline Wed. afternoon, you may be a little early. In my experience, they work well for really last minute stuff. When my grandmother was dying, I got a next day fare from them for $140, for what was ussually a $350-$400 fare (and of course much higher for shyort notice through the usual venues).

southwest, but you have to fly through houston because you can't go from dallas love to places outside of texas. and their website is too stupid to figure out how to make the connection.

Thanks for all the help. I completely forgot about Airtran. Tried them but the tickets were like $350 each way per person. I tried delta as well but no go. I'm going to try calling the airlines tonight. I would now except I really don't want anyone here at work hearing what I'm saying. I was also hoping one of those American Airline fares would show up this weekend. It's usually $169 per ticket roundtrip from DCA to DFW. I'll try on wednesday as well. Thanks!

by law, they can not offer such a connection.

Showing from Love to BWi via Houston would violate the spirit of the law.

Two seperate tickets must be issued.

you can be like that idiot who had his friend box him up and ship him NYC to TX via freight. He got home and jumped out of the box and surprised his parents. The delievery guy was still there and called the police.

Have you checked flying Southwest into Dallas Love Field? (You have to check directly with Southwest. THe travel sites don't do Southwest)

What about flying into OK City or Austin and driving?

DFW is a major hub, so fares tend to be higher.

Try this:

Text

You have to get a rental car because they only do packages. $281 per person with car and non-stop delta flights plus I saw an ad on their flight search screen that said $25 off when you use your mastercard and enter mastercard as a promotion code.

Check with Delta.

They offer weekend specials on Sat. departures with Mon/Tue returns that usually run from like $98 - $158 roundtrip. I've used that a couple times on trips from Cincy to NYC.

They'll update the list tomorrow:

Fares do not include a $3.10 federal excise tax which will be imposed on each flight segment of your itinerary. A flight segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing.
Plan as far in advance as possible, avoid holidays or heavily traveled days of the week, try different days and times. See Additional Tips for Finding Fares.

Dallas-Fort Worth, TX (DFW) Washington-Reagan National, DC (DCA) $168

I know that's going the opposite way but maybe they'd work with you given the situation?
