can someone please fill me in about Althon Micro. i can somtimes find their 9500 pros at seemingly reputable dealers for $40 off of what most companies charge. so do they suck or what's the deal. no one i've talked to seems to know about them.
thanx,
brad

i've heard of them before becuz when the original radeon le was available... it was not supported by ati. rather, it was supported by althon micro. so i guess they can't be all too bad, since for a time, the radeon le was widely regarded as the best bang for the buck card available 😛

thanx for the info, i'm still wondering about that 9500 pro though 🙂
thanx to anyone for any help they provide!!

believe me i would if i could gamble with $150. lol 🙂 i'm a poor college student, that's why i want to know.

i was thiinking about buying from them...but their resellerratings werent so hot; wasnt sure if the card was retail either and i needed it ASAP so i went with mWave who is very reliable

well I had a Radeon LE 32 meg w/tv out. Everything worked fine until cheap power supply fried my Iwill KK266 and the Radeon LE. 🙁 I'd probaly still be running that card if that wouldnat have happened.

Here is one. Don't know about the resellerrating though. but this is representative of what i found in the past. It doesn't seem like that great of a deal until u realize it's been like this since the lowest you could find was $200. There were more but i can't locate them now. To be honest, I found most of em on froogle.com. lol.
www.shopperwiz.com @ $161.85 shipped
hope this helps,
brad

what is Athlon Micro? do they make the cards. are they a store that sells them? what?

$161 shipped is a good deal. the Sapphire 9500 Pro is $170 or $180 at newegg.com not shipped.

i believe althon micro makes the cards. spanky's link (close to the top) says they sold and supported le cards. and that shopperwiz.com link i posted says they sell althon micro cards.
