Cheap 7.1 Surround card

Double-check your motherboard/computer manual. I've seen a lot of systems with built-in surround sound. Make sure you're not spending more money you don't need to. 🙂

 Most boards have at least 6-channel sound output (5.1) unless they were the at the budget end of budget.

Mine does have 7.1 but it wants me to use my audio jacks on the front of my case and that wont work my Tiamat cables dont reach that far.

You could use two 3,5 mm M/F extension cables for the front jacks.

If it were me, i'd go with the cheap Audigy SE. I had one of those cards back in the day and they were always nice. With integrated and a simple 2 speaker set up, I no longer need them. I would much prefer that to running extension cables from the front of the case.

I did end up going with the Audigy RX 7.1.

Most good boards do do it fine these days I guess, but I even over rode mine to use one of my old ones and even had to buy and adapter to use it on my P6T7.

I'm not sure if you can find them cheap these days and probably defunct.

might be worth looking at if ya can find one cheap.
