cheap 500gb NAS

I have an old PC that I want to use as a NAS. It has a 500ghz celeron with 128 megs of RAM. I put this thing together 7 years ago. It still runs, but if I remember correctly it couldn't see a hard drive over---what----127 gigs.

I have a 500gb hard drive I want to put into it with a possibility of adding more later. I would probably just put a RAID card in there and a gigabit ethernet card, and load Linux. Could this thing see the 500gb hard drive(since the RAID card would actually be running the hard drive)?

It should be able too, becauase as you mentioned the new card would be actually running the drive.
