Cheap 2D/3D Video Card

I am upgrading my father in laws system and was looking for a decent/cheap video card..(he currently has a 4mb matrox mystique....
he is not a game player....just mostly web surfer and Excel manipulator...

any suggestions??

I'd suggest a Voodoo3 card as they have great 2D quality and the price is just right as they can be found for about $65.

What are you upgrading the system to?

For the reasons you give...why upgrade at all? One of my comps has an ATI Xpert@work and it is perfectly fine for most things. The card he has meets all his requirements.

If you don't need 3d i think 4mb is plenty unless you want high resolutions on a big monitor. In any case, I'd get a voodoo3 with the $30 rebate if I wanted to upgrade. And in fact that's what i did! hehe

That Matrox has just as good 2D quality as the current crop of cards so if that´s what it´s gonna be used as I say keep it.
