Cheap 17" gaming Laptop

Hi all,

dad is looking to go on a trip and we wanted to get him a decent 17 laptop so he can play his games on the road. we saw a amd one at sams club for like 500 dollars. has descreat graphics card. how bad could that be and any other better choices? (hes getting old and needs the biggre screen!)
and if he breaks it, it wont be so bad.

17" is pretty niche. In 15" you can get some great deals, though. For example, there's an Acer with a Core i3-2370M and a GeForce GT 630M for $500 with free shipping on Newegg. It also has 4GB of RAM and a 500GB HDD.

The Core i3 smashes an AMD A6 in CPU performance and a GeForce GT 630M is a good amount faster in gaming than the A6, so win-win.
 
thanks for the question! he plays wow mostly. some diablo 3. it more to keep him occupied in the hotels vs hitting the bar. maybe he can do both?! he had a little 14" that finally broke on him so i dont think he needs all the eye candy. thats for his home pc!

tuff choice. i am comparing the 2 side by side and the hp has a new cpu. and the asus has more usb's. maybe i need to see if i can go see them. thanks for the help guys!
