President Hugo Chavez's administration has launched legislation in the nation's National Assembly, which looks to ban the sale of violent video games

The government insists the move is essential to curb street violence.

He and many members of the country's National Assembly believe that video games are warping the minds of Venezuela's youth and causing violent tendencies.

I did not see this one coming, but what do you expect from the guy that seeks to eliminate golf and can stop time itself.

Oddly enough, Iran is steaming ahead with gaming.

Maybe a popular political figure can deliver a Chavez like speech comparing him to Jack Thompson?

<-- Does not believe that violent games cause violent "real-world" actions on any significant scale.

Lol. Media crimes bill and now this. What a nutcase.

Chavez is too stupid to realize the violent tendencies stem from his oppressive regime.

Wow, ok, that's fucked up.

But, it's not much different than some of the whacked out anti-game legislation we've seen proposed in our own country. The only real difference is that Chavez has the power to actually make it happen.

Bullshit like this will continue until the people of Venezuela rise up and take their freedom back.

Who cares, a Tin Pot Dictator from a third world Banana Republic banning Golf and Video games, it's not as if he's building a Blue Ocean Navy and has Nuclear weapons like China.

This. I'm sure it will only be a few minutes before Craig makes an appearance to defend his pal Chavez.
