Chavez Expresses Disatisfaction With US Ambassador

Sorry about the confusion on the last article on this topic, btw.

Apparently Chavez is losing his patience with the US Ambassador. I haven't been following this much until this last week, so I'm not sure if this is a case of Chavez saber-rattling to gain local support at home, or if our administration is prodding Chavez on some issue or another that's making him unhappy. Anyone following this more closely have an idea what's led up to this?

yes let us engage in international assassination.

lets tell the world, they can vote for whoever they want ... as long as its the guy we like. otherwise... we kill him

LOL....the Hugo Chavez show continues.

He keeps trying to goad the US into something he can use to his political advantage, but even the Bush administration is not stupid enough to enable him.

He keeps plugging away though.

Evidently we warned their ambassador, that if they keep throwing tomatoes and eggs at our diplomatic vehicles, there will be severe diplomatic consequence" "Venezuelan police escorts did nothing to intervene as a car carrying Ambassador William Brownfield was pounded, kicked and pelted. No one was hurt" I guess we expected them to beat the living shat out of their own people, Tear gas 'em, shoot 'em, or the like? For the temerity to kick the car, egg it, and chase our diplomats cars?

To answer the question, Chavez gets more hometown support the more he bashes the evil Bush. Note how his tone is focused on the Bush administration and not the United States in general. That's a new politically correct tactic by these wingnuts to try and keep domestic U.S. support originally thought up by Hollywood and Country music stars.

Maybe the U.S. should pressure the world bank to call in it's markers for all third world dept and plunge the region into even worse economic chaos than it is now. See if Chavez can actually 'walk the walk'.

No, but the police of a country are expected to keep civil order. In normal circumstances that incident would not have been allowed.

From the OP link "Venezuela's acting foreign minister on Saturday condemned the crowd of protesters for pelting Brownfield's car with eggs and tomatoes, but suggested that Brownfield is partially responsible for failing to advise authorities of his travel plans in order to avert such problems. If that is true, it would explain they weren't able to "keep civil order".

Heh, Venezuela is already planning to pay off it's small debt to the world bank this year

Exactly.

Chavez can be the hero he says he is buy helping his neighbors out of debt before they knock him down and replace him with somebody else with a big mouth.

That debt is being payed off in a big way with U.S. dollars for oil. At least we're getting something for our cash though, unlike N Korea and their U.S. currency printing presses.

Yep, the Bush Junta got much better after their soft endorsement of the 1st coup.

The only News, it seems, to come out of Venezuela is when Chavez says something Anti-US or an event such as this occurs. We never hear a peep about what the US is doing or may have done in Venezuela recently, which I find rather interesting. There could be a whole bunch of things going on there that we'll never know about(until decades later) that justifies all these seemingly bizarre Acts by Chavez or the Argentinian people.

I have totally lost faith in the News Media of the US to offer News anymore. There needs to be less Drama and more Data on issues.
