I know this idea has been bounced around many times but without some traction from the admin around here it won't get off the ground.

It's a doddle to register an IRC channel and an announcement for a couple of weeks to give it some publicity. Without that a member would have to spam every forum which wouldn't go down well.

Whats the harm?

It's been done in the past, a couple of times. It lasts for a couple of weeks, then dies down.

seeing as how the conversations can get very heated in just slow moving threads, i would personally love to see that chaos that could result from a real-time conversation
