Chase is pissing me off

This is the 3rd time Ive gotten a "youve been pre-approved for X card" I go to the website fill out my stuff and every time I get sorry you don't have enough credit. If I'm pre-screened and I'm pre-approved why do they keep sending the damn apps to me?

Anyone else have this issue?

edit: Chase it not specify sending me these, sony, besbuy all them send em too me that go thought chase.

I have one myself (thanks to 0% interest offer which I am happily utilizing) but Greenman is correct. Steer clear of Chase.

no problems here, I charge, pay in full, get my rewards..maybe you should learn how to use credit?

I know very well how to use credit, I also know not to do business with a predatory company. One payment was late, don't recall if I forgot to send it or it got lost along the way, but chase took the opportunity to raise my interest rate to 31%. It's not worth the effort of having to watch them for the penny's they give you back as a reward.

My parents have Chase credit cards and they love them. They pay all their bills in full and on time every month. Maybe just a random good experience? 😛

I think there is more to this story....

Nope, thats about it. I didn't call and explain what happened or ask them to lower the rate, I just paid whatever the balance was closed the account. Now I have one card that I only use for web purchases, everything else goes on the atm card. Life is easy.

Raising the rate internally with a late payment has become standard fare for a CC co. Many insurances, loans, and CC companies will raise rates if you're over 30 days late with a different company and your credit rating changes. These guys are getting nasty.

Chase seems to hate my dad, every time he applies, he gets additional verification required from their "fraud" people. We send it in and never hear back! So annoying....

On the other hand, I've gotten 4 chase card (each with a nice sign up bonus).

i think xgsound's post is what happened. there's a big increase in your rate (iirc) if you have a payment more than 30 days late. if you thought you sent in a payment but didn't, it's easy to hit that 30 day mark.

OP, both my parents are happy with their chase cards. i get a lot of those cards, too. i still haven't got to reading around to see how getting a 3rd credit card will affect my credit score.
